Beers & Bits Labor Day Beer Picks
Take the day of fand relax, you deserve it. It’s labor day. You worked hard all last week waiting for the three day weekend. Well it’s finally here and I hope it has been everything you dreamed of! What would a holiday be without great craft beer. Take a look below at my five labor day beer picks.
1. Red Hare Brewing – Long Day Lager
Whether you had a long day or a great one, Long Day Lager is always an excellent choice. This is one of my favorite everyday drinking beers. Bonus points because it comes from a Georgia brewery. Read more about Red Hare Brewing here.
2. Second Self – Margarita in Gose
I am a huge fan of Second Self. I’m also a lover of Gose. A few weeks ago I tried their Margarita in Good which has everything we love about a poolside margarita with the tart flavor of Gose. This one is great if you’re enjoying some fajitas or nachos! Read more about the refreshing twist on traditional Gose here.
3. Macon Beer Company – Macon Soul
Getting a little darker but still in the sour arena I really enjoy this brew. There aren’t a lot of sour brown ales on the market that I’m aware of. This one starts out with Macon Beer’s. Macon History brown ale but is brewed with sour yeast. Perfect for an evening on the patio.
4. Lazy Magnolia – Southern Pecan Brown Ale
Okay, this one isn’t a Georgia brewery but a quality craft beer nonetheless. The Southern Pecan Brown Ale is a darker beer but very refreshing. Malty with a pecan finish I can enjoy this one any time.
5. Terrapin – Moo Hoo Chocolate Milk Stout
Last up on the list is my dark secret. I’ve said many times that I wasn’t one for stouts. That is until I tried a good stout. Now I can’t get enough. If you’re winding down after a long day of holiday festivities the Moo Hoo Chocolate Milk Stout will give you that dark chocolate flavor you’re looking for. Read my full review here.
This list has a little bit of something for everyone no matter what your favorite style if beer is. Here’s hoping you had a great long weekend. Cheers!
